Most people have recipe boxes filled with Aunt Bessie's clam chowder or Grandma Lulu's apple crisp. I, on the other hand, do not own any food recipes. I do have a recipe box filled with homemade kids entertainment.
Following one of my favorite blogs, http://confessionsofahomeschooler.blogspot.com/2011/07/diy-giant-bubble-wand.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+ConfessionsOfAHomeschooler+%28Confessions+of+a+Homeschooler%29, I rediscovered an old favorite of mine...the bubble recipe.
I was so happy to revisit the knowledge that you can make your own bubbles. That information ranks right up there with the fact that playdoh is also super easy to make! Ericas tutorials show how to make bubble wands from dowel rods. The picture of her son's face bespeaks his joy as the bubble appears. His expression brought a huge smile to my own face. How delightful the bubbles are for kids and even adults!
As I see the boy's joyful expression, I'm reminded of yesterday when my husband and I had the God given opportunity to pray for an eighty year old family friend who is in critical condition. We were witnesses as she prayed, asking Jesus to forgive her of any wrongs in her life. Then, to our happy amazement, she was immediatley filled with his spirit! We were exuberant, of course!
That experience stayed with me all day. Each time I thought of how Jesus allowed this to happen, I'd get excited all over again!! All day long, I could still feel the same move of His Spirit that we felt praying with my friend earlier that day. It kept bubbling, bubbling, bubbling in my soul!
I pray Jesus moves you in such a way, today, that His spirit overflows in you! I pray that the love of God spills onto every one you come in contact with. I am quite positive that Jesus will get as much delight seeing all of us bubbling over with joy in the Holy Ghost as we get when we watch our kids play with bubbles. Go ahead! Be Blessed! Get out there and make some bubbles, everyone! :)
THhanks for the link, hope you have fun
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way. I often invite people to our church, www.thecaringchurch.org and hand out our flier. Bubbles are exhilerating, especially when you get thousands around you, or see a giant whale go skyward!
