I have never been paid to take anyone's photo. So, I suppose that means that I am an amateur. But, I LOVE WRITE LIGHTING! PHOTO= LIGHT and GRAPH = Writing
That is what you are doing...writing with LIGHT! Cool, huh?

Well, for those of you who are better than me, I want you to join this contest. It is just a really cool one to join. I don't get paid to ask or invite you to do this. But, I want someone I know of to WIN IT! So, go WIN! Or, Maybe I will win! Then someone YOU know won it!

A Look at Liberty Photo Contest
This summer, the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial invites the public to grab their cameras and send in their best photos. Download the official rules.

What:
A Look at Liberty photo contest sponsored by the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial

When: Entries must be received via email to info@theworldwar.org on or after May 30, 2011 and on or before September 5, 2011 (11:59 p.m. Central time)

Who: Open to the public
Age groups:
•Youth: Age 17 and under, as of May 30, 2011
•Adult: Age 18 and over, as of May 30, 2011

Photo categories:
•Spirit of Liberty: Images should capture the spirit of “liberty” and may be taken anywhere.


•Museum and Memorial: Images must be any taken at (or taken of) the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial.
An individual may submit up to three photos in each photo category in his/her appropriate age group.
Judging: All entries will be judged by a panel of judges selected by the Museum. All decisions and determinations of the judges will be final. Winners will be determined on or before September 30, 2011.
Prizes: A first-, second- and third-place winner will be chosen in each age group and in each photo category. Winning photos will be displayed at the Museum, on the Museum’s website and via social media outlets.

•First Place: A Family Membership to the Museum for one year, a private museum tour for four, lunch in the Over There Café for four, $50 gift card to Museum Store, souvenir book, and a framed photo of tour group at the top of the Liberty Memorial tower (approx. $175 value)


•Second Place: Four tickets to the Museum, dessert in the Over There Café for four, $25 gift card to Museum Store (approx. $75 value)


•Third Place: Four tickets to the Museum and $15 gift card to Museum Store (approx. $63 value)
No transfer or substitution of prize is permitted.
Details: No purchase necessary.

Email entries sent to info@theworldwar.org must include the photographer’s name, age (as of May 30, 2011), phone number and email address as well as photo category and image title for each attached image. The Museum will not be responsible for lost, electronically misdirected, late, or otherwise non-complying entries.

Images must be at least 300 DPI and submitted in .jpg, .tif, or .gif file format. The Museum may require a higher quality resolution of the winning photographs.

Photos must not have been previously published or entered in any other contest.

Minor digital enhancement is permitted, but images that have been significantly modified or appear unnatural will be disqualified.

By emailing your photo to the A Look at Liberty photo contest, you agree the submitted entry is your own work, you own the right to distribute the image, and that the image does not infringe the intellectual, privacy or other similar rights of any third party.

Additionally, you agree that the submission of an entry constitutes the grant of a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial to use, display, distribute and reproduce the photograph submitted for any purpose (including, but not limited to, publication on the Internet and use as part of marketing publications). Entrants further grant to the Museum the right to use and publish their name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the contest.

By entering, participants accept these rules and also release and hold harmless the Museum, its employees and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the Contest or any prize won or not won.

Noncompliance with any of the contest rules or return of any prize notification/prize as undeliverable may result in disqualification and an alternate winner will be selected. Limit one prize per entrant.

This contest is open to residents of the United States (other than residents of the State of Arizona, who may not participate in this contest). Employees of the Museum and those living in the same household are not eligible. Void where prohibited.

All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. All federal, state and local taxes (if any) on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners.
