Jesus not only said those words in that setting, it is reiterated several times throughout the gospels! We all have to be reminded that, "With man this is impossible, but, with God all things are possible." When faced with daunting issues, there is NOTHING like prayer and scripture to find our hope and answers.
Jesus knows the Word is effective. When His disciples were faced with the insurmountable, the assurances He gave them were actually Old Testament proclamations.
Consider these verses:
Genesis 18:14 Is anything too hard for the LORD?
1 Samuel 14:6 Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few."
Job 4...2:2 "I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted.
Jeremiah 32:17 "Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great
power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.
Jeremiah 32:27 "I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?
Zechariah 8:6 This is what the LORD Almighty says: "It may seem marvelous to the remnant of this people at that time, but will it seem marvelous to me?" declares the LORD Almighty.
We can all recount things that happened that we honestly thought would never come to pass. What ever you are faced with today that looks impossible, KNOW that He is able to take care of it!
Jesus kept reminding them of the promises of the Word of God.
Mark 10:27 Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."
Luke 1:37 For nothing is impossible with God."
Luke 18:27 Jesus replied, "What is impossible with men is possible with God."
What is it that looks impossible to you today? Whatever it is, spend real time in prayer about, fulfil your part in it, then EXPECT Jesus to do it! Because He can do what no other power can do!
What a mighty God we serve!
